[35mm Ohio] Southern Ohio and Springdale

Minolta XD-11 with Fuji Superia 400.

- Granny's Novelties, Ironton.

We came across Granny's Novelties, a head shop in Ironton where the walls are colorful and the staff is friendly. Below is Sue who welcomed us in. The staff had several $1 bills pinned to the ceiling, their collective savings for the next company vacation. Now that these photographs are developed, I need to send in the photograph of Sue with a few singles to put towards their fund drive.

  1. Love your pictures. Here is a task take pictures of each courthouse in the state and make a special web page for them. I would love to do that here in TX but the state is so big it would take 10 years.

    1. Good old Boggs Lane...Used to work at that building in the phonecenter. If you've never tried to manage a phone room 2nd shift i highly suggest it.

    2. Haha, Ben, do I sense some sarcasm there?

    3. Ronny...Didn't somebody do all of the state courthouses on Urban Ohio? Or was that just photos from every county seat and it happened to include most of the courthouses?

    4. They may have, Kevin. However, the search feature on UO is so hit or miss that I'm not seeing anything.

    5. Me neither. I think it was user "nkaelin" (Nathaniel Kaelin) and I believe it was in the 2003-2005 time frame.

  2. That former hot dog place is on Northland next to some college or maybe hairdressing training place? Down the street from the ex-porsche place? Also IIRC, your 3rd to last pic is a building that a long ass time ago was a Brown Derby restaurant. They used to show old b&w stuff on a loop on their CRT TVs with the sound off (3 Stooges, stuff like that). It was around til roughly '87 when I left school early for getting my wrist broken. Mom took me to Brown Derby for lunch after X-Rays.

    1. I think it's a bit of ways down from the Porsche Dealership (maybe not a lot, but I think Porsche was closer West by Walagreens?). I never knew that was Brown Derby, that's awesome. So weird to see it as a... law office?
