Cable cars in Algeria are apparently a big thing, though.

There's a huge thread here
https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=707048&amp=1
and more info here
http://gondolaproject.com/algeria/
and tons and tons of videos on YouTube if you search in English, French (téléphérique Alger), or Arabic (الجزائر التلفريك which is basically the French text in Arabic). I watched a few videos, but didn't see that scene from the card. One of the pictures in the skyscrapercity thread shows a seawall, but the rest doesn't match up. I'm sure if I had the time to keep digging, eventually we could hit upon the exact location.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812116909571848352.post-50579828237564856102019-06-30T22:30:21.164-04:002019-06-30T22:30:21.164-04:00Hey Anon, thank you! I'm not sure where that particular boat was traveling in 1985 beyond the USSR, possibly a domestic river cruise. The ship still shows up as being active on the Rechflot web page.

If you want to upload the back of #9, I could take a stab at deciphering the Arabic, but my Arabic is way shakier than my Russian, and my Russian is pretty lame....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812116909571848352.post-42738283706012146722019-06-28T09:33:42.885-04:002019-06-28T09:33:42.885-04:00Thanks for taking the time to take a look! Thanks for taking the time to take a look!Ronny Salernohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09028420637930256541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7812116909571848352.post-12852448000097169952019-06-28T08:42:06.938-04:002019-06-28T08:42:06.938-04:00Absolutely love these postcards.
