I recently had the opportunity to meet Carol Sampson. She’s a Certified Tourism Ambassador, volunteer, and enthusiastic supporter of Cincinnati. Over the past few months we’ve been talking back and forth about her upcoming project: a tour of some of the city’s ghost signs/fading advertisements via the streetcar. The first tour will take place this Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. The tour lasts approximately two hours and is free aside from purchasing streetcar fare.
Speaking from personal experience, there’s a ton of historic signs that you can see within steps of each rail station and the historical information Carol has put together is awesome.
If you’d like to take part in the tour, contact Carol at 513-266-9534 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The tour will start at and depart from the Public Library station and streetcar fare can be purchased at the station vending machine or by downloading the Cincy EZRide app. It’s a great chance to check out some urban archeology as well as the city’s rail transit system. Additionally, the tour will be occurring the third Saturday of each month through October.
